IMG_3179.JPG26 viewsLooking north, northwest from the saddle, back toward he lake basin west of Snowyside Peak. It looks like a lot of boulder hopping, but by following the grassy areas up from the lake basin almost to the highest trees, then continuing more or less in about the middle right of the photo, it went surprisingly fast, and was not bad. We stayed higher on the moraine, west, of the lower drainage, even though there was some snow.Aug 14, 2013

IMG_3176.JPG30 viewsWe contoured across the slope to get to the notch leading to Twin Lakes ( just left of the two outcrops on the right end of the ridge, about 3/4 right in photo), but it would have been faster to descend to the lake, then climb back up on stable rock and boulders.Aug 14, 2013

IMG_3163.JPG23 viewsWe met a day hiking party of 4 who had come down the slope in the background from Edna Lake. We had seen them our first night out camping at the south end of Edna Lake. They were not thrilled with the route they had chosen, and were headed to the trail for the return trip to Edna; Ten Lakes Basin at 8881'.Aug 14, 2013
