IMG_3199.JPG23 viewsLooking back at the notch we descended from Twin Lakes land bridge. The notch is the low point on the skyline, just left of center. There is a large outcrop up and left of the notch, above which is a distinct patch of blue sky.Aug 14, 2013

IMG_3203.JPG20 viewsWe worked our way down the benches about 1/3 the width of photo from the right edge. About 2/3 of the way down, it was easier to zigzag back to the south, and descend some ramps into the gully.Aug 14, 2013

IMG_3194.JPG25 viewsWe contoured north, northwest to the benches leading down to Twin Lakes, descending the ridge, behind which is seen the right one third of the northern of the Twin Lakes. The ridge becomes exposed in the lower section. We descended into the main drainage to the south, working back toward the notch. It might be easier to contour from the notch all the way to ridge which descends to the saddle between Twin Lakes and Toxaway Lake, then descend using the trail, bypassing Twin Lakes completely.Aug 14, 2013
