One more chance at this tomorrow morning! Much like last night, a veil of clouds has softened the light.

DSCF0983.JPG1 viewsThe larger rainbow was caught in Cove Lake, S of the inlet. The smaller brookie was caught later in the day just S of the inlet to Sapphire Lake. Both were caught using a grasshopper dry-fly. Trout for dinner!

DSCF0986.JPG1 viewsI took a photo (DSCF0964) from the same perspective the night before, but the alpenglow is more pronounced this evening. There are no clouds between the setting sun and the landscape.

DSCF0987.JPG1 viewsThe is a small patch of snow above the lake in the center of the frame. In prior years at this time of the year a much larger snowbank existed right at the lakeshore below the small patch. There is less water in the streams this summer. There appears to be more algae in the shallow water along the shoreline in Cove Lake each year.
