South from the summit of Mt. Solomons, the entrance to the not so 'Enchanted Gorge' through the "dark gate" guarded by Scylla and Charybdis, beyond Chasm Lake in the center of the photo. Scylla rises above Chasm Lake to the south. The gorge descends over 5000' down Disappearing Creek southeast to Goddard Creek, to the Middle Fork Kings.
