We played leap frog, exchanging the lead several times with this party of five backpackers. For busy Spring Break, we only saw 3 other parties; a group of two hiking up the slot, and two others traveling alone. One had entered via Middle Trail Exit. It seemed absurd that we were unable to obtain an overnight permit.
