The Professor is wearing the Salomon Techamphibian 3 Water Shoes with Stohlquist 2mm Sandal Socks with Fleece Lining. We read positive reviews about the durability of this shoe on this same hike. I went with a pair of old Asics trail runners that had holes worn on each shoe at the base of the little toe which helped drain water. I used the same neoprene sock. The combination was perfect. I used Saloman XT Wings in the dry, upper Buckskin section. The rubber is not very sticky, but one benefits from sticky rubber in very few places on this hike with the exception of the rock jamb.
