The adjacent Glen Aulin High Sierra camp just north of the falls was still not open to commercial packers due to snow. Nonetheless, it was already crowded with backpackers hurriedly claiming the nicer remaining numbered spots when we arrived the evening before-- a far cry from the solitude we experienced most of our hike.
