Moonrise, eastern Twin Peaks

Moonrise, eastern Twin Peaks.
A late start resulted in a hastily prepared camp at the 9600' level in upper Horse Creek Canyon. As dinner simmered on the Svea, the moon came up over the crest. I grabbed the 35mm Miranda SLR I had borrowed from my older brother, set the shutter speed to bulb, and held the camera firmly on a huge boulder. I pressed the shutter and counted aloud the seconds I guessed might be required to capture the mood of this moonlit scene on film. Dinner preparation, as long as I can remember, has always taken a backseat to photographic opportunity. September 20, 1974.
