There are 3 stations close to the Warm Spring Creek drainage: Look for Cape Horn, the obvious 90 degree NE to SE bend on Highway 21 west of Stanley. Banner Summit is on Highway 21, SW of Cape Horn, close to Bull Trout Lake. Cozy Cove is lower in elevation, due west, at the south end of Deadwood Reservoir. Jackson Peak is slightly higher than Banner Summit, and between Banner and Cozy Cove, but to the south. Our routes lies within the equilateral triangle formed by the three stations. We end up lower than Cozy Cove, the lower of the three stations. It is typical for Bull Trout Lake to have as much as a foot of snow before October 31st. This snow often melts, leaving the road almost impossible for normal passenger vehicles to navigate. Four wheel drive may be necessary.
