A day hiker took our photo on the high saddle of Summit Lake Trail between the Green Lake Trail and the upper lakes in the Virginia Lakes basin. He hiked with us back to the trailhead, telling us his favorite area was Evolution Basin. That was our destination the following year (see Evolution Basin, July 15, 2012).
